Air Duct Cleaning

  • Breathe easier with fewer allergens and contaminants in your home’s air supply, and cut down on dust emissions from your vents.

  • Signs that your ducts may need to be cleaned:

-Visible rust, dust, or debris piling up within your ductwork.

-Rodent or other vermin activity in your ductwork.

-Increased household allergy symptoms and/or respiratory issues

    1. All supply vents are removed and a large vacuum called a negative air machine is connected to your ductwork.

    2. The open supply ducts are then plugged and one by one brushed with a rotating mechanical brush to knock free any debris clinging to your ductwork.

    3. Finally, pressurized air hoses are run throughout your ductwork to blow the last of the contaminants down into the negative air machine, leaving your ducts cleaner and your air healthier.

Hand Sealing & Caulking

  • Prevent future contaminants from getting into your ductwork and seal rusted ductwork to prevent any rust from getting airborne

  • Ducts with visible gaps and/or rust should be sealed with specialized tapes and mastics. Gaps and exposed sheetrock around vents should be sealed with caulk.

If you schedule a free inspection for a duct cleaning we will be able to show you whether or not hand sealing and/or caulking are necessary for your ductwork.

  • Hand Sealing:

    1. The ductwork is thoroughly cleaned and any rust is scrubbed with wire brushes.

    2. 40-year hardcast tape and aluminum sheet metal are used to patch any gaps within the ductwork.

    3. Duct mastic is applied over hardcast tape and aluminum patches to seal any small gaps that might remain.

    4. Duct mastic is then used to seal any rust within the ductwork to prevent it from getting airborne.

    Caulking:

    1. Any gaps around where the vent meets the wall are and filled in with caulk and smoothed over.

    2. All exposed sheetrock and plaster are sealed with caulk to prevent them from degrading into dust and becoming airborne.

Dryer Vent Cleaning

  • Improve the efficiency of your dryer and mitigate the risk of fire in your home.

  • Dryer vents should be cleaned every 1-3 years, but if you have pets that shed or if you use your dryer heavily you may want to consider having them cleaned twice a year.

    1. The dryer is moved carefully away from the wall and the dryer vent hose is disconnected from the back of the dryer.

    2. Using specialized brushes and vacuum attachments the inside of the dryer is cleaned of any lint or debris.

    3. A vacuum is attached to one end of the dryer vent while a rotating brush is inserted in the other end which then cleans the walls of the dryer vent and pushes any lint or debris through and into the vacuum.
